Highlight Films: personal video biographies

The work procedures are the same as those used by BBC, National Geographic or any other broadcaster who commissions us with a documentary film production: After researching the facts and development of the story, we will present a shooting script, and following the filming stage the producer in charge will write an editing script. Once editing is under way, we will upload  story drafts - offline versions of the film to be revised and modified following the customer's instructions and insights. We produce according to international broadcast standards and in high definition. The delivery of the finished video - whether on DVD, BLU RAY, tape or a digital file, is always at the highest usable quality.

We would be glad to take this challenge and to offer you the accumulated experience of more than twelve years of documentary filmmaking. We want to hear the basics: where do you live? what periods in your life you would like to focus on? who do you want to be in the film beside you? Friends? Family members? Within two days, we will return to you with a suggested duration of the film which we think will work best, and a price quote. We don’t have a fixed tariff: it depends where we shoot, how many filming days will take place, how complicated will the editing be, do we have to license archive footage to illustrate parts of the story, and many other factors.
 

Once you confirm the suggested film duration and price quote, we will introduce the team member who will produce your film. There is one producer in charge of each production, and the producer will work with you on getting the facts, realizing what you want to tell and what things you would like to keep to yourself, who you want to mention in the film and many other questions we know to ask, and you will give us the answers.
These answers will be our guidelines for the shoot and edit.Rough Cut After filming, we will edit your film to a stage of Rough Cut. The story is already lined up, but you will watch it at your convenience to make sure we haven’t left out anything important, that there is no mix-up in dates or names, and that the story is told the way you want it to be told. Master tape Once your comments are incorporated in the film, we will produce a master tape: we will send you a DVD (or Blu-Ray disk if you prefer it)  a high quality digital file and an internet video.
60 days later, and only if you agree in advance, we will upload the film to the JewishBiography.net online library, where it will be available for viewing. Where is the Work Done?
