One of our targets for 2011-2012 is to continue leading the field of 3D production in Israel.
The Highlight Films production crews have been involved in several film and video 3D projects: both stereoscopic video production, IMAX 70mm film production and experimenting with the new 3D camcorder workflow.

IMAX

Highlight Films manages and provides the production services in Israel for the Arcane / Cosmic production of JERUSALEM 3D IMAX, the biggest and most expensive film project ever filmed in Israel. The production and its accompanying public programs is planned for 2011 and 2012 with an international release beginning in 2013.

JERUSALEM 3D IMAX is an unprecedented education and outreach enterprise, comprising a groundbreaking and spectacular 3D IMAX film and a multi-year, multi-component, public education and outreach program in the world’s most prestigious museums and influential centres of education.

JERUSALEM 3D IMAX is being produced by London-based Arcane Films and New York’s Cosmic Pictures, with multi-nominated Oscar producer Jack Eberts as executive producer.
The British-Canadian project is part of a multi-year public education programme that aims to promote better relations and build between Jews, Christians and Muslims by highlighting their common heritage.

3D-HD STEREOSCOPIC CAMERAS

We provide HD camera sets, rigs and all necessary production services for stereoscopic filming, used in order to create 3-Dimensional video. All the latest models of paralel and mirror-based rigs are available in Israel. As of February 2011, the highest-quality 3D HD solution we can offer is based on two Pansonic Varican 3700 P2 cameras on a P+S Technik stereoscopic rig.

The Panasonic AG3DA1

The Highlight Films production team has completed the testing of the new Panasonic AG3DA1 camcorder.

Director of photography Roni Kalderon filmed in various locations in Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, using the Panasonic camera and a full 3D production monitor - Panasonic BT-3DL2550.

The results are outstanding. We are editing the footage on an Avid MC4
Adrenaline system, and will upload the edited clips to our online archive and to YouTube upon completion.

Additional shoots are planned in Tel Aviv, Caesarea, more Jerusalem locations and the Sea of Galilee.

3D Post production

Our post production team is now studying several workflows for our 3D post-production department. We will continue to update this page as we continue to develop our 3D services.
