Highlight Films' Green InitiativeAs the world is learning about the importance of going green and preserving the environment, Highlight Films has begun a new green initiative to allow us to join in this vital and pressing movement of our time. Highlight Films initiated and maintains www.dead-sea-dying.com - an internet data base advocating a visual campaign to save The Dead Sea. Here is a list of new policies regarding our shared outlook on environmental change and preservation: - Each year, Highlight Films will provide cameras and editing facilities for free for two short films that deal with the environment. We will enable filmmakers to take their concept into project through our services and expertise. Email info@highlight.co.il to submit project ideas. - Highlight Films will provide a 10 percent discount on all production services to films and projects dealing with environmental issues. In our offices, Highlight Films staff will... -Gradually convert to tapeless media: completed by the end of 2009. We are now tapeless! -Switch to glass and recyclable cups: completed -Reduce electricity consumption and conserve energy whenever possible: in process. We have already switched to electricity saving monitors in all editing rooms. -Use environmentally friendly maintenance and cleaning supplies: Done. -Recycle paper and plastic: In process Films in production: Dead Sea Dying - a Jordanian-Palestinian-Israeli coproduction dealing with the dire condition of the Dead Sea (in production). The Water curse - a three part series following past, current and future solutions to water shortage in the Middle East (in development) Mediterranean - a 60 minutes documentary co-production director by Eytan Nadel. Mediterranean will follow fishermen in various parts of the Mediterranean, and focusing on the drastic changes in fish population along the Mediterranean shores.
