One of his KindOne of his Kind follows the life, work and death of Adam Baruch. The film was initiated and directed by Ron Maiberg, Baruch's friend and colleague, on a mission to shed light on one of Israel's most remarkable journalists.
The film describes the revolution in the Israeli press generated by Adam Baruch three decades ago, and ending in the current survival campaign of the printed press in Israel, desperately fighting TV and the internet.
![]() The story of Adam Baruch, the great originator of modern journalism in Israel, is of an individual who inspired his generation, connecting people and words, aspirations, victories, challenges and defeats; a man who kept clear borders between private and public, living a unique biography where conflicting worlds co-existed in a unique realm.
One of his Kind includes footage taken three years before Baruch's death, in his last meeting with filmmaker Ron Maiberg. In the last eighteen months Maiberg interviewed a variety of friends and colleagues of Baruch, who were close to him in different periods of his life, to create a very special collage of the life of this extraordinary intellectual.
